Australian Bloodstock Directors, Luke Murrell and Jamie Lovett have enjoyed much success in the business world - now they crave success in racing, a sport which is their absolute passion.
Both men had dreamed of pursuing their dreams of chasing Melbourne Cup's and Cox Plate's while working in finance and real estate, and have slowly turned that dream into the reality that is Australian Bloodstock.
Luke and Jamie bring superior business nous and experience to the bloodstock industry, and with a deep understanding of pedigrees, conformation, and bloodstock trade, they provide a well-rounded and holistic approach to their racing business.
Luke has enjoyed a lifetime of interaction with racehorses and the racing industry, and has developed an amazingly successful methodology in relation to form study and the the analysis of a horse and itsunique traits. he is widely regarded as one of the finest form analysts in the country and his opinions are sought after by many leading stables.
Having spent a number of years learning the skill and art of bookmaking under the tutelage of Mr Rob Waterhouse, Luke can give clients a real edge when it comes time to back their horses - when Lukes says it's time to win our horse's usually do!
"Australian Bloodstock currently also manages over 15 different racing portfolios on behalf of clients, and we strive to provide unrivalled communication to each and every one of them," said Murrell.
"At the end of the day our clients come to us for the same reasons that we are involved in this business in the first place - to race winners! We will do all we can to provide the best racing opportunities for our clients and limit their long term risk."
When it comes to client relations and business relationships, few people in the bloodstock industry can boast the success or breadth of contacts that Jamie can.
Jamie's client base is extensive and his list of contacts reaches into some of the most powerful stables in Australia. But when he is not crunching the next deal with the heavy hitters of the racing industry he is at the head of his successful real estate business in Newcastle.
Jamie’s background also as a licensed stock and agent auctioneer has also been invaluable to the company and his contacts within the bloodstock industry ensure that Australian Bloodstock is setting the buying and selling trends, not following them.
"Racing is a life long passion for both Luke and I and we are very fortunate to be able to work in the industry that we love," said Lovett.
"Everyone wants to own just one good horse but our theory is that if you work hard enough, and do the hard yards, there is no reason why you can't own four or five good horses during your lifetime. At Australian Bloodstock, we are striving to be a force on the race tracks of the world as well as here at home in in Australia."
