Australian Bloodstock is proud to announce on the back of its purchases of Waldpark and Salon Soldier the purchase of its third German Horse this year. The intriguingly named SOMMERNACHSTRAUM who happens to a be a half brother to Salon Soldier has been confirmed overnight and he will head to the stables of Kris Lees once completing his quarantine
A slow maturing horse SOMMERNACHSTRAUM has had only 14 career starts and has largely raced in Black type or against Black type horses. He is expected to arrive in Australia as 65-70 rating horse and as a result should have plenty of wins up his sleeve.
Early days he was unlucky not to beat the eventual Group 1 Derby winner Waldpark in a Listed event before being unlucky in the Derby when getting conditions against. Having lost his way in his 4yr old season SOMMERNACHSTRAUM has bounced back to good form with three excellent runs in France this year culminating in a last start victory at Chantilly where he had some bad luck in running but still proved to be too classy
SOMMERNACHSTRAUM should arrive in the coming weeks and will commence work immediately and races like the Hobart Cup, Adelaide Cup , Queensland Cup etc look to be right up his alley.
Sommernachstraum wont be the last German horse to arrive here with talks continuing on a further 3 horses. With another one being vetted this weekend we can expect these classy horses to come and dominate in the near future.
