Thursday, 23 May 2013: Australian Bloodstock have acquired Group performed German gallopers Waldpark and Salon Soldier who will commence racing in Australia this spring.

Best known for their recent acquisitions of Lucas Cranach and Mawingo, Australian Bloodstock have again turned to Germany for their latest imported duo.

Waldpark and Salon Soldier will enter quarantine in Europe this week before heading to their respective Australian stables.

Salon Soldier will be trained by Kris Lees with a view to the Caulfield Cup while Anthony Freedman has the job of setting Waldpark for the Cox Plate.

Both lightly raced, Waldpark at this stage is the best credentialed of the duo having claimed the 2011 Group 1 Deutsches Derby (2400m) at Hamburg, a race where fellow Australian Bloodstock runner Mawingo finished behind him in fourth
