As connections wished farewell to a stable favourite, Group 3 winner ALIFEROUS (Hinchinbrook x Willow) at Tuesday’s Magic Millions Broodmare Sale, they were once again rewarded by this beautiful mare as she sold for $475k! After being purchased at the 2017 Inglis Melbourne Premier Sale for $130,000 the Hinchinbrook mare would go on to win the Group 3 Adrian Knox Stakes and consistently compete at Group and Stakes level throughout her career. She ends her career in the Australian Bloodstock silks with stakes earnings of $576,580.

Smart judges also had their eyes firmly on Exceed And Excel mare MISS CANADA. This stunning physical specimen out of a Hennessy mare (Inglourious) was Group 2 placed in the Silver Shadow, as the hammer fell she certainly wasn’t missed selling for $750k to Suman Hedge Bloodstock. It was another great result for connections of Australian Bloodstock with the mare being purchased for $240k at the 2019 Magic Millions Yearling Sale.

MISS CANADA (Snitzel x Empress Lily) sold for $750,000

“The market for a long time has rewarded buyers who buy A-grade specimens that have a pedigree. This weeks results prove this and it’s great to see so many of our clients making some big profits.” – Luke Murrell

Group 3 placed Animal Kingdom mare, GAME OF THORNS, out of a Redoute’s Choice mare (Only Roses) was another positive result on day one of the Magic Millions National Broodmare Sale. Purchased for $180k at the 2018 Inglis Classic Sale she earnt $186k on the track and was sold for $350k to Dillon Ventures.

Flashy Snitzel mare ITZ LILY (Empress Lily) was such a trier on track. There’s not much of her, but what she lacked in stature she certainly made up for in heart. In a 25 start career she netted seven wins with a further seven minor placings and amassed $402,925 including the Muswellbrook Cup and Sky Racing Summer Provincial Series. Purchased for $80k at the 2019 Gold Coast Magic Millions and sold for $100k to Bangaloe Stud it was another fantastic result for connections.

ELEGANT GRACE (Fastnet Rock x More Valour) also went through the ring and sold for $320k to the Written Tycoon Syndicate. She was a $370k Inglis Australian Easter Yearling Sale purchase who won $91,315 on the track. A free hit for connections and a great result thanks to the team at Coolmore Australia.

It brings the team great joy to see our lovely mares head off to give life to the next generation and although they will be missed we can’t wait to see their progeny in years to come.

“We worked hard with Yarraman Park to source the right buyers and Miss Canada was testament to that.” – Jamie Lovett

A special mention to Yarraman Park Stud who prepared our mares for sale, they again showed why they are one of the best in the business. Like the saying goes “Put your horses in the worst company and yourself in the best” – Unknown
