Sire: Gale Force Ten

Colour: Bay

Dam: Sapphire Spray

Sex: Gelding

Age: 3

Foaled: Mar 20, 2016

Country: Ireland

Trainer: Kris Lees

Arrived in Australia on Saturday the 30th of November and is in great order.

Cristal Breeze is a value for money purchase from England who we think can work through the grades nicely in Australia. Unlike most UK horses he needs firm ground so he’s going to be perfect for Australia.

His only 2 below average runs have been on soft tracks and I think we have a horse of Listed/Group ability who’s extremely tough and durable and has a big heart which is very important!

Below is his form, some of his most recent runs with comments and replays, why we bought him and pricing.

2nd May 2019 – Redcar over 1400m

Finished 1st of 6

Watch race:

As you will see in the Video he was very green and new and didn’t know what to do, but as the hill kicked in his quality and class shone and he won very easily and was named the Racing Post Star Performer

Racing Post Star performer: Cristal Breeze (3.25) justified support decisively on this turf debut and can go on to better things.

31st May – Wolverhampton over 1700m

Finished 1st on the firm AW surface

Watch race:

Due to the wet tracks they shifted him to the all weather tracks which is where most of the firm trackers like to race. He was also well up in distance and he did well in a good race.

As you can see below in the sectional graph he did it easy here. What was most impressive was his last furlong where he was exceptionally strong and showed speed running an 11.49 furlong. He went hard early to control the race, got a breather and then at the business end he was very strong, a good sign of quality.

Racing post Comment

Four finished clear of the field in a fair novice event.

CRISTAL BREEZE, racing under a penalty after his Redcar win earlier this month, grabbed the early lead from his wide draw and made a decisive injection of pace to open up a gap on the home turn and saw off the challengers in gritty style.

6th July 2019 – Sandown over 1400m

Finished 3rd of 9

Watch Race:

A good testing track here at Sandown where he raced some very decent horses and put in a good effort. Sandown is a very tough and undulating course and to sit wide here is a big disadvantage yet he did. I loved how he was last off the bridle which is a sign of a good quality horse. Given he had the worst run in the race his run peaked, however they ran very good time and it was a high rating race.

This effort in Australia would be Saturday to Listed Class off the times and quality.

27th July 2019 – Newmarket over 1200m.

Finished 3rd

Watch Race:

This Race was equal to a Listed Race in Australia as these rich handicap races are normally big fields and sort after given the big prize-money. This was a HOT Race with horses like Swindler (the 5th horse was just sold for $550k AUD) and Pass the Vino, these are high class horses. It was the feature race at Newmarket with a good field and whilst up in class he did well to get so close to the older horses at a time of year where the younger horses are disadvantaged.

24th August – Newmarket over 1400m

Finished 2nd in good quick time for the course and distance

Watch Race:

Newmarket has a step rise in it’s finish and I love how tough and game this horse is. He was exposed leading all the way on a watered course so did well to run the quick time.

The winner is extremely smart, the next start she was beaten by two lengths in the Group 3 Sceptre Stakes at Doncaster by a horse I consider Group 2 quality and after that only beaten 1 length in the big field in the Rosemary Stakes, so the form is red hot. Generally speaking Group 3 horses in the UK are Group 1 horses in Australia.

A race horse with a big heart is always more desirable than one with talent and Cristal Breeze has one. He has run fast overall time in just about all his career runs, excluding the 2 soft tracks, and importantly he is a horse who is still very young and learning.

Inside Information:

Through our association with the trainer William Haggas he reports “Cristal Breeze is a nice horse, he’s a Listed horse here but my biggest issue is he hates wet tracks. I would be very confident if he stays with me here we could go to France and Win Listed and Group 3 grade next season but if you buy him to send to Australia, he’s the type of horse who could easily win another 8-10 races as he is a pleasure to deal with and he just tries so hard.”

In Full work you should budget on $240 per month for a 5% share.

When the horse is spelling budget on $60 pm

We charge a management fee of $22 pm
