Very consistent horse who we think will be a better horse in Australia. He had to make the list on his ratings and consistency alone. We picked him up as an absolute bargain and expect good things from him!

We added this horse to the list simply because he has ratings that suggest he could be a Group horse, and we know for a fact he’s going to be an awesome Cups horse for us given his soundness and his consistency.

His ratings are exceptional and we think with any improvement he might be the buy of the sale. Whilst we don’t think he can win a Melbourne Cup, a horse like this could easily win $500,000 in our rich Cups circuit and we had to buy him based on this.

The Charlie Fellows Stable commented on him:

“I know the boss doesn’t want to lose him and I think he intends to buy him back in full disclosure. He’s very sound and always has been and just turns up run after run.
He’s very versatile and I think he could win at 1400m if you trained him that way and the only thing we know he doesn’t do is jump well, but overall he’s a very sound horse.”

Ronald Rauscher who is the best agent in Europe commented:

“For a horse that has seen plenty of racing he’s a remarkable horse in that he looks great. Good joints, not sore over the back and walks off like a nice horse.”

Vet Comments:

“Given his age I expected to find a number of wear and tear issues but really there is nothing of note to be concerned about.

He’s a good style of horse and was a gentleman to handle. His back x-ray is great as are all other exams”

The Plan:

He will arrive in Australia on the 6th of December and he will then do 2 weeks quarantine then head to training.

There will be no rush with him and no great plans outside of just looking to place him well and get him to the City and start winning some metro races.

Medium term the rich Cups circuit will be ideal for him and we think he will arrive here with a very respectable rating.

He’s the type of horse who won’t surprise us to see run in some of those rich $500k races and given he’s so competitive I think at the cost he will be a no-brainer.

22nd June 2019 – Haydock over 1600m – Finished 1st – Rating 90

Race comments: This is over only 1600m and you can see he gets stopped in his tracks and still comes across heels to run them down which was a big effort! Personally we don’t think the jockey and his lack of balance helped him at all either and to beat some nice horses was a good effort.

Racing Post comments: MAYFAIR SPIRIT was stuck in a pocket until switched out to challenge with a furlong to run. He quickened up well once in the clear, getting up close home, and this was a good effort considering he was dropping back in trip having landed a couple of 1m2f handicaps recently.

28th June 2020 – Windsor over 2300m – Finished 1st carrying 59kg – Rating 80 (Home in a 35s last 600m!)

Race Comments: Just a moderate tempo and we liked the fact he could pick up with the big weight!. He runs a solid last 600m and does well to beat a tough seasoned horse. He had plenty to give here and although still a little green he did the job very well.

The 2nd horse is a decent horse and has form around Aktau, who has proven he’s a Group horse as well as being what we would consider a solid Listed grade horse if he was in Australia. The 3rd horse is also very tough and consistent and has good form lines and good ratings.

Whilst no stars here it was a high level race and no mean feat to win with the weight and slow tempo, and he put a margin on some decent horses.

20th October 2020 – Kempton over 2400m – Finished 2nd carrying 63.5kg – Rating 95

Race Comments: This was a huge rating race and he carried 63.5kg to boot! Watch how he picks up with his turn of foot!

Decent form from the race and overall this shows again his versatility and his change-up in speed when given the opportunity.
