Being an Easter Graduate is a good start to life being the premium sale in Australasia.
Newgate Principal Henry Field thought this colt was a ‘’brilliant representation of the stallion‘’ and felt ‘’compelled to race him with us’’ asking us to reserve his share as soon as he was purchased!

This horse was raised at the renowned thoroughbred nursery in Newgate Farm which tells us not only is he a good type just to make Inglis Easter sale but he’s had the best start to life possible with their fertile paddocks.

Purchased by Jamie who reported “ I was inspecting another horse in the draft with Kris Lees at the time and this horse happened to be out parading. He was a striking mover and had a good presence about him. So much so we lost interest in the one we were inspecting and upon closer inspection we loved what we saw and decided he was coming with us”

THE DAM – Spellbinder (O’Reilly x Scenic Sprint)

Pedigree-wise this colt is hard to fault as his dam was a super consistent horse in NZ at the highest level. She ran 2nd to the freak at the time in Bounding, beat a good horse we raced in Australia in the Group 3 by the name of HERA who was beaten 0.5 of a length in the Group 1 Coolmore, and in her first 10 starts Spellbinder was only out of the money once.

THE SIRE – Extreme Choice (Not A Single Doubt x Extremely)
  • “Extreme Choice is the equal-highest Timeform-rated winner on 124 of the Blue Diamond Stakes in the past 25 years” – Gary Crispe – The Daily Telegraph, March 18, 2016
  • Winner of the Group 1 Blue Diamond in explosive fashion – earning a 124 Timeform rating
  • WFA winner of the Group 1 Moir defeating world champion sprinter Chautauqua
  • “He’s the best 2YO I’ve ever ridden, and the Best 3YO too” – Jockey Craig Newitt

This lad is already broken in and will head straight to Kris for pre-training and all being equal he will race before Christmas.
