The talented Lunakorn returned to winning form with a well-deserved victory at Flemington on Saturday.

The Puissance De Lune mare produced her fourth victory from eleven starts when successful over the mile in a Benchmark 78 Fillies and Mare event.

The Freedman stable have had to carefully manage the four-year-old’s career but always believed she would stretch out to 1600 metres, and perhaps further, with a little bit of time and maturity.

“The mile was always going to be the test for her but we trusted her pedigree, she is by Puissance De Lune and once Jamie got her to relax so well in the run, she was always going to produce a nice finish” said co-trainer Sam Freedman.

“It was a great ride by Jamie.

“She has been very honest, she has just found it hard to win this preparation but she deserved that win today.”

Freedman gave credit to the stable staff for their management of the Australian Bloodstock owned Lunakorn, who can at times be a difficult mare to handle.

In form rider Jamie Kah was also full of praise for the four-year-old.

“She was definitely my best ride for the day, it was a good run the other day (at Pakenham) and I learnt a lot about her” said Kah.

“She is relaxing now, it’s a credit to the Freedman team, she is a talented horse.”

Lunakorn brought up a double for the Father and Son training partnership with stable mate Alternate Reality breaking her maiden at Benalla.
