Perennial back marker God’s Hand was again just beaten in a Photo for 3rd after steaming home from the tail of the field. As is always the case in a race devoid of speed on paper – There was a mad scramble early and this left the old fellow God’s hand run of his feet for the first part of the race. After working to tack on to the tail of the field- Top Jockey produced him on straightening and he stormed home to be just beaten for 3rd. Whilst a Good run the plan will now to step God’s hand up to 2000m and beyond. He is getting a bit cunning in his old age and its thought he won’t have to work as hard and he can produced his electrifying turn of foot .

After the race Australian Bloodstock had the privileged to have some private after tea with the great man Mr Bart Cummings which was a massive thrill which lasted for a good hour ( boy does time fly when your having fun !!.) His nous and wit where as sharp as ever as was his charm. Whilst it was a private chat and discussion one particular “bartism” was classic.
Asked if he had any particular exciting yearlings turned 2yr olds he mentioned he had a lovely Darci Brahma colt which he had a good opinion of and he had some still for sale ( always a salesman) .Asked how good it was Bart quick as a flash replied ” its unbeaten !!)
