Mawingo was very disappointing in Saturday’s Peter Young Stakes at Caulfield. Although the tempo of the race was dawdling, the fact the winner came from behind us was a real concern. Freedman will now push on to the Australian Cup and hopefully with a truly run contest he can be ridden cold and and have one last shot at them late at Flemington.
