There is no doubt that some people have “it”. Some people get it through hard work and others also have it via just being lucky.
Two of our good friends Jamie Stumer and Michael Virgo are two of the hardest working people you will ever meet- both are hugely successful business people in their own right- however there is no doubt they have been blessed.
To understand how lucky they really are one only needs to consider their list of horses:
The currently own Group 1 Winner (of the Qld Derby) Empires Choice- who without his long list of problems im sure would have went down as one of Australia’s Best stayers. After two years off this horse only recently ran 3rd at Group 1 level and if he gets a run has to be massive chance in this years Cups.
Their second horse goes by the name of ALBERT THE FAT- another recent Group 1 Winner of the BTC Cup and on his day QLD best sprinter / miler
Their third horse CARDINAL VIRTUE is a outstanding stallion prospect who recently was Group 2 placed by the wonder mare Hot Danish and has a bright future
Their Fourth horse is the highly touted MASTER OF DESIGN. A recent acquisition MOD was produced first up in WA and blew WA best horse off the paddock. Running home in 32.60 and under a hold the last 150m the very best form judges are suggesting not only is he a Group 1 horse but WA best horse. The fact he was first up and had heaps of improvement and could have easily broken the track record is amazing.Im also reliably informed they won a few pennies on the weekend to boot
Their only other horse is a filly closely related to ALBERT THE FAT and on her trials she is one to watch
